Since 2011 the TRC has been operating the „Martha K. Pratt KinderCare “at the old Road in Sinkor, Monrovia. The Center provides childcare and educational services for 120 children between the ages of one and eight years. The parents pay a small monthly school fee.
Most of the parents are single teenage mothers living in the Joe Bar Market Community in Sinkor Old Road, Monrovia, Liberia who are, with the opportunity of childcare during the day, able to go back to school or to work in the marked.
The greatest challenge for the school at the moment is to daily provide water for the 120 children and the staff. So far the water has to be brought to the school bucket by bucket from the well outside the compound. The school has a well itself but the handpump was stolen during the war.
